Soy Candle Collection Review

Most candles on the market are made from paraffin wax - not something I want to be breathing in! So I was happy when Soy Candle Collection kindly wrote to me asking if I'd love to try some of their products.

I was even happier to open the parcel to find two of my favourite scents from their collection: Sandalwood & Vanilla and Coconut & Lime Verbena.. yummm!

The candles come in recyclable packaging but I think I'll reuse them after they're finished. The tin makes a lovely trinket holder and the glass pots make a cute little tea light holder.

Before burning the candles, I took a long smell of these and they smell amazing. Sandalwood & Vanilla smells like expensive perfume and Coconut & Lime Verbena doesn't smell much like either coconut or lime to me but very pleasantly has a lovely refreshing and cool smell. Reminds me of holidays.

When the candles are being burned, the scents don't let out much fragrance and I find that the same with many candles. However, the smell of the Sandalwood & Vanilla candle lingers for a while after I blow it out and I love smelling it as I drift to sleep at night.

In terms of the burning time.. wow! I actually forgot the Coconut & Lime Verbena candle lit in my bedroom for over 5 hours (!!) I'm lucky the house didn't burn down! But it was still lit when I got back.

Overall, the smells are lovely but just like many candles, don't have much fragrance when lit. However, they burn forever. OK maybe not forever but I've had them on for hours and they're still pretty much full.

I filled up my basket with so many things then I forced myself to put everything back. I'll be definitely be going back for more though.

I remember seeing lots of Weleda products and bamboo body brushes a while ago. I hope they get more brands in, especially make up!

So if you're finding that buying natural and eco friendly bath and skincare products are out of your budget, get down to TK Maxx for some bargains.

How gorgeous is this juicer...

The Easy Health Angel Juicer

It's 24K gold plated and costs almost £3000! A bit much for a juicer :(

They do have stainless steel versions though with the same benefits such as removing 90% of the pesticides from fruit and getting much more nutrients out of the fruit and vegetables than most other juicers. They can also be used to make raw milk and nut butters. But even in stainless steal they cost hundreds of pounds :(

Meet my new flowers!

Keeping a plant in your room has been found to improve air circulation, remove impurities from the air and to improve mood. I just bought it because it looks pretty. And pretty things always improve my mood! With the darker nights, I need all the brightness I can get!

Wysteria Lane goodies pt 1

I am crazy about Wysteria Lane. I had bought a couple of things from their website before that I fell crazy in love with. So you can't possibly imagine my surprise when I found that they had opened in town.

Their boutique is so pretty. I literally want to live there! I want to sleep, eat and dance there! I'll try and see if I can take some pictures there to show you how gorgeous the place is. Oh, and their staff are so lovely!

So here is my latest purchase from Wysteria Lane....

I'm planning on using it as a home for my new plant but you can use it to grow herbs in the kitchen or as a pretty vase for freshly cut flowers. It would be a beautiful gift on it's own or filled with any plant.

The pot is about 12cm high with a diameter of about 13cm. It costs only £4.99! Complete with the beautiful wrapping for no extra charge!

They don't currently sell it on their website so if you can't head down to any of their boutiques (two in Shropshire and one in The Pavillions, Birmingham), it might be worthwhile asking if they can deliver this particular item especially for you.
